My work has a point of view. While each piece may shift back and forth along the axis between representational and abstract, there is always a visual and emotional intent. I particularly enjoy utilizing the diversity of media and materials that are at contemporary artists disposal to provide a unique way of expressing timeless subject matter.

The painting was started with cherry blossom branches only, the translucent material allows painting on both sides for a layered look. It became more as I continued working, an allegory of Spring rebirth vs. the struggle of nature against a harsh manmade environment. The final touch was the insect that has attracted the bird, look closely, it is a fishing lure with a hook. The painting twists back and forth both emotionally and in the painting style.
