Lisa Denison is an artist living and working in the Washington D.C. area. Prior to moving to the D.C Area, Lisa taught drawing & painting, studio art, and Art History for Norfolk Public Schools, Elementary Art in Chesterfield County Schools, Richmond Virginia for a total of 16 years. "I came from humble beginnings, in a small town, which I am so grateful for. It taught me many valuable lessons, in particular to push my creative mind, to see things in a different light, and to go inside and listen to my intuition. Drawing or painting is a sacred space for me that has always allowed freedom of spirit.

"Boys and Fire" originated from a backward glimpse as I walked up a hill on a summer night. There was something that stopped me. Perhaps it was the crackling of the flames, the stillness of the night, the peace of the moment, and the glow of the fire on their skin, that I wanted to remember. I painted with a medium sized brush, and tried to capture the stillness of the night along with the dance of the fire, the blurred figures, and the energy of a deep friendship.
