Marci Green has studied art for the past 22 years in all sorts of mediums, but her favorite is oils. She favors oils because of their ability to convey depth and movement, and appreciates a well-placed swipe of paint, pressed into the canvas in a moment of thought. From her own battles with Lupus as well as the special needs of her children, she understands that life has many layers; some subtle, some transforming, some raw and distorting what's truly underneath. Her paintings reflect life's varied circumstances that ultimately translate into something beautiful.
Painted using a combination of palette knife and brush. The absence of a floor was intentional, I wanted to show that for a second in time, there were no limitations holding her down. Moving through space and time, she is elevated and free from worries and fears. She recognizes the light from above will give her the courage to jump into the unknown.
