I have been painting for as long as I can remember. For the last 35 years, I have been immersed in watercolor painting. I am currently working on a series that is all about highways and byways. I am a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, the Potomac Valley Watercolor Society, among others. I am currently serving as president of the Virginia Watercolor Society.

This painting, "King Street 9 PM", was inspired by an evening walk along King Street one night. I was taken by the wonderful pattern of lights and colors of Leesburg at night. It was a challenge to create a visual interpretation of this and try to make it lean toward abstraction. I found the scene very magical and "otherworldly" in the feeling it exuded. As with all very familiar scenes, at different times of the night or day, they take on a whole new appearance.
