Growing up, my parents always promoted individual creativity and my father was almost always writing or painting in his spare time. My sisters went on to pursue art careers but I preferred teaching and for most of my adult life have been teaching young children art in or out of the classroom, twenty-four of those years in a Kindergarten classroom in Loudoun County. I was also active for many years in fiber arts, as well as gardening, crafting and photography until picking up a paint brush about 10 years ago. Now in retirement, when not spending time with family, particularly my 4 grandchildren, I try to find time to paint!
I loved how truly purple the water appeared next to the green leaves of the water plants.
